M-Heal

M-HEAL (Michigan Health Engineered for All Lives) is a student organization at the University of Michigan that fosters interdisciplinary work in global health and design with under-served communities using human-centered design philosophy. They engage students through project teams each working to develop a healthcare technology, as well as through hosting guest lectures, interactive workshops, and volunteer opportunities.

Global REACH is a key partner to our UMMS faculty members, learners, and departments working to engage with international collaborators to advance health, research, and education. By engaging partners around the globe, Global REACH not only extends Michigan Medicine to improve health in other (often low-resource) settings, but they also generate scholarship to improve healthcare delivery here at home.

Nu Rho Psi is the only nationally-recognized honor society in the area of brain research. The study of the brain is one of the noblest of academic pursuits because a deep and true understanding of the principles by which the brain works contributes directly to the quality of our lives and the well-being of future generations.

EVMS

EVMS program is the fastest pathway for individuals with a four-year degree or higher with no medical training to enter this specialized medical field. Their mission is to train competent surgical assistants in a dynamic academic environment and nurture future educators and leaders of the profession.

NAAMA

NAAMA is proud to be an all inclusive association that acts as the voice of all Arab American healthcare professionals and addresses their professional and cultural needs. Through educational, philanthropic and service activities, NAAMA will promote the professional development and cultural identity of healthcare professionals with roots or affinity to the Arab World.

UMMS Medical Arabic

Medical Arabic at the University of Michigan aims to help future and current healthcare providers and physicians develop the basic spoken Arabic language skills needed to communicate effectively with Arabic speaking patients. The group is dedicated to helping participants provide culturally competent and sensitive health care by hosting lecture series and journal clubs focused on the Arab American experience.

CLAWS (Collaborative Lab for Advancing Work in Space) is a multi-disciplinary group of student designers and engineers. Our work centers around the NASA SUITS challenge to create an AR interface that supports astronauts on lunar missions, paving the way for future space exploration. Students have the opportunity to learn and apply industry skills in a collaborative project team, and engage with the broader space community.

MAPI

The Michigan Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (MAPI) focuses primarily on issues surrounding the practice of medicine by its members. It conducts educational activities through various professional channels and Continuing Medical Education (CME) meetings. Past speakers have included renowned physicians and high-ranking officers of various national medical associations, political leaders, and financial executives
